AIM:
Students will gain the knowledge of linear algebra (basic) necessary for the efficient processing of data and time-series in the MATLAB environment. The acquired knowledge will allow students to develop simple computational models from experimental data.
CONTENT:
• Fundamentals of linear algebra: vectors, matrices and operations between them.
• MATLAB environment.
• Definition of variables: scalars (double and char), vectors, matrices and arrays, cells, structures.
• Operations on variables: arithmetic and logical operators, extraction of sub-arrays.
• Coding in MATLAB: scripts and functions
• Built-in functions. Examples.
• Visualization of variables: plots.
• The for and if environment.
• Debugging.
• Saving data: MAT-files.
• Examples in MATLAB.
